Wicksteed Park

A Grade II English Heritage Listed Park & Garden and founded in 1921. Along with 30 exciting rides and activities, including one of Europe’s longest zip wires, there are 147 acres of beautiful rolling parkland. Enjoy the lake at the heart of the park – with shingle beach and pontoon. Discover the arboretum, motte and bailey and amphitheatre which are other great parts of the park. A great family day out.

Althorp House

Explore Althorp House, the home of the Spencer family. A captivating day out to discover and be amazed by the beguiling ground, interiors and the private collection of furniture and paintings. It’s a perfect day out for all ages and celebrates the centuries of the estate. The gardens, including the round oval, are just as impressive with 550 acres of parkland beauty.

Stanwick Lakes

A 750-acre countryside attraction and nature reserve with lots to see and do. There are plenty of walking, cycling and heritage routes to explore. Drop by the visitor centre for a hot drink, and pit stop treat. Take part in the wildlife and bird watching sessions or take on a traditional craft course with a full schedule on offer. The Rockingham Forest Trust manages the park.

Plan your day trip to ‘The English Versailles'. Boughton House is one of Britain’s grandest stately homes. Explore the best-preserved baroque State Rooms and walk through the grandeur of the place. Take in the world-renowned art collection that’s throughout the house. Go outdoors for the 18th century landscaped gardens, woodlands and its grand country park. Guided tours occur throughout the year.

A shopping and leisure complex with over 50 retail brands, excellent leisure facilities and something that make it's unique. Head to The Nene Wetlands Visitor Centre to explore the beautiful Nene Wetlands and the nature trails around this area. Hire a canoe for some fun and get out onto the water and explore the Nene waterways. A great place to head to for a real mixture of a day out.

You can get up close with a variety of animals from handling rabbits and guinea pigs in cuddle corner, taking a pony ride and watching the ever-popular piglet race. One of the few places in the country that can demonstrate a history of over 10,000 years of human activity, Chester House Estate is well-known as a hub of long-reaching historical discovery, with some of the site's earliest discoveries tracing back to the Ice Age. Providing a fascinating glimpse into Northamptonshire's outstanding heritage, Chester House is perfect for any history buffs looking to learn about the local area's significance to the Bronze and Iron Ages, the Roman and Medieval times, and the continued developments happening at the site today.

Silverstone Museum

An immersive visitor attraction that celebrates the past, present and future of British motor racing, The Silverstone Interactive Museum is home to over 60 hands-on exhibits that showcase some of the finest innovations from the world of motor racing. The museum some of the most iconic vehicles to ever race their way around the Silverstone track, including Mansell’s iconic “Red 5”, an E.R.A from the first ever Grand Prix and Barry Sheene’s 1979 Suzuki motorbike. Alongside this, the museum offers plenty of opportunities to unleash your inner speedster, from operating a wind tunnel, to handling a replica Grand Prix car, to taking part in a pit stop.
